As a multidisciplinary artist, my creative trajectory has been shaped by a foundation laid at, SOTA, now the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts in SF, where I had the privilege of being mentored under artist Ruth Asawa, Marth and other Black Mountain alumni through the SF Service Learning Program. Having previously established myself as a professional makeup artist in the realms of celebrity red carpet, television/film and entertainment for over two decades, my creative journey has now extended into abstract painting and collage. The deliberate interplay and layering of post-consumer beauty packaging, handmade natural pigments, acrylics, and oils on canvas reflects a commitment to my artistic evolution. Each composition serves as a nuanced exploration, blending the disciplines of makeup artistry, special effects, and fine art within the context of a multidisciplinary approach. This integration draws from the diverse experiences acquired from mentors, some formal education, and a transformative special makeup fx apprenticeship, contributing to a rich and evolving artistic narrative.
Most recently, the instruction at the Art Students League, guided by esteemed educators Mariano Del Rosario, Jason Yarmonsky and Dominique Medici have expanded my practice beyond form, figure and assemblage.
